Do you love the holiday season? My parents always made these special creating many treasured memories. Turkey Day sometimes brought company from Detroit (we say "Deetroit") and I loved waking to the smell of coffee brewing and cigarette smoke from downstairs. Our guests were a handsome family and I'll never forget the red satin dress the Mother wore one year adding glamour and bling to the holiday (I wanted one just like it when I grew up). Christmas had it's own smells - Russian spiced tea simmering on the stove, turkey in the oven and the fragrance from the live Christmas tree. . . and Santa always brought me what I wanted! Lovely.
